The Rockford Alumni Club awards several scholarships every year.  The funding for these awards comes primarily from the On The Waterfront beer tent, and private donations made at the annual Founders’ Day dinner, which is held in Rockford every February.

2007 scholarship winners

The Rockford Alumni Club awarded four $1000 scholarships this year to high school students from Northern Illinois who plan to attend UW-Madison this fall (2006). The UW will match the amount from our local alumni club, bringing the total for each award to $2000. Congratulations to our winner!

Scholarship applications were down significantly this year, so the club only gave out one $1000 award (typically we give 4-5). The unused funds were put into savings and will be used to supplement 2008 scholarships.
